APS Online Terms of Service

Effective date: 5 November 2026
Last updated: 5 November 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using APS Online. Our Refund Policy is part of them, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. By creating an account or using APS Online, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

APS Online ("APS", "the Service") is operated by Liu Lei, an individual based in Changping District, Beijing, China ("we", "us").

Contact: [email protected]

2. What APS Online is

APS Online is an AI-assisted presentation editor at https://apsdeck.com for lecturers and creators. You can turn a script into slides, edit them by hand or with an AI assistant, change templates and colour schemes, present, share read-only links, export (PDF, PPTX, images, offline package) and publish to your own GitHub Pages site.

We do not provide AI models. To use the AI features, you connect a model provider of your choice (section 8) and pay that provider directly. Our fee is only for the platform; we never charge you for model usage. Manual editing, presenting and exporting all work without a model connection.

3. Your account

  • Age. You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy a membership.
  • Signing in. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google or GitHub where offered. Your account is created the first time you sign in. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, so keep your email secure.
  • One person per account. Don't share your account, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Work use. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

4. Trial, membership and payment

4.1 Trial. New accounts get a free 14-day trial. No payment details are needed.

4.2 Plans. A membership is a one-time purchase of time:

PlanPriceTime added
MonthlyUSD 41 calendar month
YearlyUSD 4012 calendar months

Memberships do not renew automatically, and we never charge you unless you start a purchase. New time is added after your current end date (or from today if you have none left), so buying early wastes nothing. The checkout may also show the price in another currency.

4.3 Taxes. Prices exclude taxes. Any applicable tax is calculated and added at checkout.

4.4 Waffo is the merchant of record. Payments are handled by Waffo Pancake, a service of Waffo.com Limited and its affiliates ("Waffo"). Waffo acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller for APS Online memberships. This means:

  • you buy the membership from Waffo, and Waffo's buyer terms shown at checkout (currently https://waffo.com/terms) apply to the payment;
  • your receipt comes from Waffo and names the Waffo entity shown at checkout as the seller;
  • Waffo collects any applicable sales tax or VAT, and collects your payment details directly. We never see your card number;
  • for payment, billing, receipt or chargeback questions you can contact Waffo at [email protected]. For anything about APS itself, contact us.

We remain responsible for the Service itself.

4.5 Invite rewards. When someone signs up through your invite link and pays for the first time, you each get one extra month. We may change the reward for the future; the product shows the current one. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred. We may withhold or remove rewards gained through self-invites, fake or duplicate accounts, or purchases later refunded or charged back.

4.6 Price changes apply only to future purchases. Time you have already bought is not affected.

4.7 Refunds. See the Refund Policy.

5. When your membership ends

When your trial or membership time runs out, your account becomes read-only:

  • you can still sign in, view and present your decks, and export them (PDF, PPTX, images, offline package, full backup);
  • you cannot create or edit decks, use AI features, or publish to GitHub Pages. Sites you already published stay online;
  • your share links are paused; visitors see that the link cannot be opened right now;
  • buying more time restores everything, including your share links.

We keep expired accounts' data until you delete your account. If we ever decide to delete accounts that have been expired and inactive for a long time, we will email you at least 30 days in advance.

6. Your content

6.1 You own it. You keep all rights to what you upload and create in APS, including AI output ("your content").

6.2 Permission you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, process, render and transmit your content only as needed to run the Service for you, such as saving versions, rendering exports, sending content to the model endpoint you connected and to prompt screening, and showing a deck to people you share it with. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backup copies described in the Privacy Policy.

6.3 Your responsibility. You confirm you have the rights needed for your content. Only upload photos, voices or likenesses of real people if you own them or have their permission. You are responsible for what you share or publish.

6.4 We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

7. AI output

  • Output comes from the model you connect, not from us. It can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, biased, or similar to other people's content. Check facts, figures, quotes and references before you present or publish.
  • Output is not professional (legal, medical, financial or similar) advice.
  • You are responsible for how you use output, including saying that AI was involved where the law, your institution or a platform requires it.
  • We do not claim ownership of output; your rights in it depend on the law and your provider's terms.

8. Model providers and endpoints you connect

  • Depending on what the Service offers at the time, you may connect an API key for an official provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic Claude), any endpoint that uses the OpenAI or Anthropic API protocol (including third-party services that relay requests to other providers), and, where we offer it, a model subscription (such as ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot).
  • The provider or endpoint is your choice and a third party. Its own terms and privacy policy govern your use of it, and you alone are responsible for complying with them, including rules on permitted use, usage limits, account sharing, regional availability and use through third-party apps. By connecting it, you confirm you are allowed to use it through APS.
  • We do not operate, review or endorse third-party relays. A relay can see everything you send through it and the key you give it, so choose carefully.
  • We are not responsible for a provider's availability, output, charges or data handling, or for action it takes against your account.
  • Some connections may be unavailable in some countries or regions because of provider terms or our own decisions. We work out your location from your network connection. Don't try to get around these restrictions.
  • We store your keys and tokens encrypted and use them only for features you use, including background tasks you start (such as generating a deck, describing uploaded images for asset search, or visual layout checks). You can remove a connection at any time in Settings. We may switch off a type of connection or block an endpoint for security, legal or abuse reasons.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use APS Online to create, upload, store, share or publish, or ask a model to produce:

  1. Illegal content, or content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
  2. Child sexual abuse material or anything that sexualises minors, including AI-generated or synthetic material. Zero tolerance; we report it to the authorities where required.
  3. Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
  4. Graphic violence or gore, or content promoting terrorism, violent extremism or self-harm.
  5. Hate speech that attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or similar characteristics.
  6. Harassment: threats, bullying, stalking, or exposing someone's private information.
  7. Deepfakes and deceptive impersonation: face swaps, "nudify" images, intimate images of real people, words or actions falsely attributed to real people, or posing as another person or organisation to mislead, whether or not the person consents.
  8. Infringement of copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights.
  9. Malware, phishing, spam, scams or other fraudulent material.

Also don't disrupt the Service or get around its security, limits, regional restrictions or prompt screening; access other people's accounts or data; resell the Service or use it to give others model access; or create accounts automatically or abuse trials and invite rewards.

10. Moderation and enforcement

  • Prompt screening. Before text you write for the AI reaches your model, Waffo's Prompt Sift service checks it. This covers chat messages (including canvas notes passed to the AI), image prompts, new-deck wizard inputs and instructions during generation. Text that is not cleared is not sent. If the check is temporarily unavailable, AI requests pause until it is back.
  • Review. We do not routinely look at private decks. We may review specific content when it is reported, to investigate abuse or a security problem, or when the law requires it.
  • Actions. Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content or disable share links, restrict features (for example, make your account read-only), suspend or close your account, and report illegal content to the authorities. For serious violations, such as child sexual abuse material, we may act without notice.
  • Appeals. If you think we made a mistake, email us within 30 days. We will review the decision again and reply within 14 days.

11. Share links and GitHub Pages

  • A share link shows a read-only copy of your deck as of the last time you published the link. Anyone with the link can view it unless you set a password. You can set an expiry date, update or revoke a link at any time. Links pause when your membership ends and resume when you renew.
  • We may disable a share link that breaks these terms or the law, or after a valid complaint.
  • Publishing to GitHub Pages copies your deck to a public repository in your own GitHub account, under GitHub's terms. The GitHub authorisation you give APS lets it write to your public (not private) repositories; APS only writes the decks you publish. We cannot remove content from your GitHub account; you can unpublish in APS or on GitHub, and revoke the authorisation in GitHub settings.

12. Reporting content

Email [email protected] with "Report" in the subject, the link, what is wrong and how to reach you. For copyright or trademark complaints, also identify the work, explain why the use is unauthorised, and confirm you are the rights holder or act for them. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days and handle urgent ones, such as child-safety reports, as fast as possible. We keep reporters' identities confidential unless the law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to the Service

Features may be added, changed or removed. We do not guarantee the Service will always be available or error-free, and we may pause it for maintenance. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, we will tell you in advance where we can, and you may ask for a pro-rata refund of unused paid time. If we close the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data, and refund unused paid time pro rata.

14. Deleting your account and termination

  • You can leave at any time. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account and type your email to confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your decks, assets, chats, versions, model connections and keys, and share links. Download a backup first (Settings → Data → Download backup). Some records are kept for a limited time, as the Privacy Policy explains.
  • Deleting your account does not refund unused time (see the Refund Policy), so ask for any refund first.
  • We may suspend or close your account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, if the law requires it, if your use puts others or the Service at risk, or for payment fraud. Where reasonable and lawful, we will warn you first and let you export your data. If we close your account when you have not broken these terms, we will refund unused paid time pro rata.
  • Sections 6, 7, 8 and 15–19 continue to apply after your account ends.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or accuracy. We are not responsible for third-party services you use with APS, such as model providers and endpoints, Google, GitHub or Waffo. Keep your own backups of important work.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill; and our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid for APS Online in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 20.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Governing law and disputes

Please contact us first if you have a problem; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the people's court with jurisdiction over the place where the operator is domiciled. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

18. Changes to these terms

For material changes, we will notify you by email and/or in the product at least 14 days before they take effect. Clarifications and changes required by law may take effect on publication. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account; if you tell us before the change takes effect, we will refund your unused paid time pro rata.

19. General

These terms and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right straight away does not waive it. You may not transfer your account; we may transfer these terms to whoever takes over the Service and will tell you if we do.

APS Online is hosted in Singapore and offered to users internationally. It is not specifically directed at users in mainland China, and some features may not be available in every country or region. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you.

These terms are written in English. If there is a translation, the English version prevails.
